From 10 to 12 October, 50 tasting professionals from 7 different countries tasted 880 beers at Doemens in Gräfelfing. Of course, the beers were tasted blind and critically evaluated. The tasting was based on the brewer's specifications and not on a defined category limit. Each beer was evaluated individually and intensively as a team, not in a ranking comparison of beers randomly selected at the table. The organisers of the Finest Beer Selection, Meininger Verlag and Doemens, have found that this new concept, this intensity in the tasting, takes more time, but this was also solved organisationally during the three-day tasting at Doemens. 248 beers were found and awarded, all of which scored at least 90 points on the internationally proven 100-point scale and were therefore included in the Finest Beer Selection 2023 with a very good rating.
